Molesey Skatepark Plans

c_67_article_bodyimageWell it seems like Molesey should be getting a skatepark in the near future. I’m all for this park getting built but so many things spring to mind when I see these plans. In the pic is an artist impression of what the skateparks will look like. It’s crazy how the council thinks just by putting down some rubbish ramps together this will make everyone happy. Fact is a lot of people will hate it and more than likely go about destroying it. I’m not condoning this in any way, it’s good that there is a skatepark in the area but why does it have to be so rubbish, small slippery ramps are not ideal. Hopefully Kingston skatepark won’t be as much as a letdown as I presume this is going to be. Rant over.

Looks like things have picked up again with the plans for a skate park in Molesey again and they want you to have your say.

I stumbled upon this artical – they even took quotes from this site.

You have until 31 May 2010 to fill out and return the questionaire.
Information, questionaire and a newly submitted first draft of the skate park can be found here – http://www.elmbridge.gov.uk/leisure/parks/skatecon.htm

Anyone who’s interested; I have a facebook group called ‘Elmbridge Skateparks’. Which I’m trying to use as a central area keep people updated about facilities within the borough. As sometimes you just don’t get to here about potential builds and miss out on having your say.
