Kingston is in the process of getting a new park. How awesome is that! As anyone that’s been to the current park knows, it’s shockingly bad, both in terms of how it rides, and the state of some of the ramps. Turns out plastic isn’t a good surface for a skatepark after all, go figure. So far the committee for this re-vamp consists of all bmx’ers as so far the skaters have been too slack to get involved. This is a good thing, as it means that we wont have to put in pointless sets of stairs for them to repeatedly fail to kickflip down and then have a wee temper tantrum. The plan is too get plans and funds sorted this year, so that with any luck the build can begin spring 2010. Come spring this year there should be a number of events to raise awareness and funds for the park so keep your eyes peeled for that.

look like good plans. on plan a think there should be a quarter/flatbank on the end of the block that faces the jump box, just to give you more options to flow round the park…

Yeah good idea. The two designs are the first ones to be drawn up, hopefully talking with a guy on the 24th to go over plan designs. Updated plans soon.

plans look good
would be sad to see the ol’ skatepark be rebuilt but im sure its for the best. Plan A looks the best but B does have some pretty kl features. just make sure they stick a few rails in there like the stuff there now.

It looks like the designs are very much geared towards bmxing. Its a shame about no skaters interested in puttng there thoughts forward, but you don’t have to be sarcastic. Also I think it’s only right to consider all types that will use the park

Thanks Tim

The top designs look mental, aim high though! I would like to point out that the grass is really out of proportion though, so when you get your new ramps, make sure you get the right length grass. Nobody likes big grass.
