Kings Field Skate Park Statement
I totally forgot to put this up the other week. Here is a statement of the progress at the moment. Basically we all met the other day and have been told we got to start from square one… kind of.. We have to re-submit proposal for park plans so it all could change but watch this space and check out the statement below…
The Kings Field Skate Park – 6th October 2010
Invitations to tender for the construction of the new skate park in The Kings Field, Hampton Wick went out last week.
The project is a partnership initiative between LBRuT and Richmond Youth Partnership with a large input from the users: Skaters; BMX Riders and Inline skaters.
The new facility will replace the existing facility in exactly the same footprint. The fibre glass and steel ramps will be replaced with a fluid concrete design which will cater for beginners through to the most experienced.
Funding for the scheme totals £150K of which £120K LBRuT Youth Capital Fund and £30K LBRuT Parks and Open Spaces Parks Improvement Programme.
The current timetable aims to open the new facility in Spring 2011, however this is subject to good weather conditions.
