Skatepark Vote

It’s now time to vote for your chosen skate park based on the presentations and finalised designs provided by the following companies:
Bendcrete
Fearless
Gravity (Haven’t received any plans)
Maverick
Wheelscape

From Monday 21st December you are asked to speak to Steve at the Kcafe where you can register your vote against your chosen skate park company. Drawings will be available for a final look at inside kcafe, or you can look here at the links above

RULES ARE:
1. ONE MAN – ONE VOTE
You will not be able to get past Steve.
2. YOUR NAME IS WRITTEN AGAINST YOUR CHOSEN SKATE COMPANY
3. YOU CANNOT VOTE AGAIN, OR CHANGE YOUR VOTE
so take time to think.
4. YOU CAN TALK DIRECTLY TO THE COMPANIES INVOLVED IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
5. REGULAR OR SEMI-REGULAR SKATE PARK USERS ONLY. OTHER VISITORS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO VOTE.
This keeps the integrity of the voting.
You will not be able to get past Steve.
6. YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM VOTING IF YOUR BEHAVIOUR DURING THE VOTING PROCESS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO KCAFE.

Voting can take place on any of the days in between 21st december and 17th January. The park (with Steve present) is open 7 days a week from 10am to 4pm – except Christmas Day.
While your visiting Steve, why not support Kcafe and the young people in Richmond by grabbing a coffee and some grub!!

The winning company will be announced officially by Kcafe on the evening of Sunday 17th January 2010.

Please note that we cannot promise that the winning company will then be the CHOSEN company. We will make our recommendations to the council and various committees involved in the decision processes based on what you say through the voting as … THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN.

Same. Me and my mates all think Maverick looks rad. Best use of space.

bailey  on December 19th, 2009

ah man what a hard choice. Seems a shame the committee doesnt just vote on it. Its obvious theyve put in all the time and effort and if it were not for them we wouldnt be in this position now. I hope the kids dont fuck this up for us and vote for the shit ones.

bailey  on December 19th, 2009

also whats up with gravity not showing any plans? heard their park design is really good!

James  on December 19th, 2009

i agree bailey. Needs to be put to a committee really to stop the wrong parks getting chosen, but ah well.

Gravity hasn’t sent me any revised/old plans so I haven’t been able to show you guys, I robbed the only one I could from facebook page. (its the end picture in the set of plans above)

bailey  on December 19th, 2009

ah nice one james. completely missed that one. hmmm my vote is going to maverick i reckon. what do you motely cru of “ginger elitist bmxers” think?

Gareth  on December 20th, 2009

I think we need to be careful we dont get won over by pretty pictures when in reality all the ramps are like 4 foot high. At the very least we need to be certain that which ever company builds it can make them tall enough within the budget.

Fucking great…so we put in all this effort and we’re only recommending people to the council?
Two words…HORSE SHIT.
I’ll vote for Maverick none the less.

Kev  on December 20th, 2009

Also; Maverick need to crank up the heights on their stuff.

Nelly  on December 20th, 2009

You cold blooded bastard! I’ll tell you what I think of it, I’d live to see you eat that contract! But I hope you leave enough room for my fist, because I’m going to ram it into your stomach, and break your goddamn spine!!!!!!!!!!

Gareth  on December 22nd, 2009

James  on December 22nd, 2009

Nope, heard nothing from Gravity, even after i spoke to them last week..

dave!  on December 22nd, 2009

any news on increasing the hieght of the maverick plans?

James  on December 22nd, 2009

I spoke to him today and i also mentioned about the height, he said that changes can be made to the original designs. Ill see if he can answer your question here.

Al  on December 22nd, 2009

The height should be increased on some ramps but stil keep smaller ones for beginners. Also it would be sweet if you put in some floodlights so maybe one night a week could be a night sesh.

Gareth  on December 22nd, 2009

Floodlights aint gonna happen, at least for the mo. Too many arsehole residents any planning shit to get through. I’d wanna be vey sure they could go higher with the ramps before choosing them to do the work…

Maverick Skateparks  on December 23rd, 2009

Just been checking out the posts, good to see the design has gone down well. We are really keen to to meet and discuss tweaks to the design (ramp heights, spacings, layout etc) with the whole group. This is your park and your design and if we are lucky enough to be successful with the tender we will make sure that the park is right for everybody. Thanks for the feedback and if you want to ask any questions directly then get in touch with us through facebook.
