Wheelscape Submitted Park Designs

Wheelscape have submitted their designs for the new construction of Kings Field Skatepark. To date there have been two designs submitted, one from Wheelscape (as seen here) and one from Maverick (Images to come soon).

In my opinion these aren’t the best designs that were presented, seems like a lot was left out of the original brief.. Jump box, Spine, Spine/mini, no bowl. This seems like more of a skater skatepark. Be interesting to here everyones opinion. Its important to know that this is NOT the final designs. Tweaks will be made.

looks pretty cool, although doesn’t seem like theres that much in quite a big space, having a bowl bit could be cool, parts of it could be used as a mini?

Make that bowl more mini orientated.
      Chuck some quarters in there.
      Jumpbox.

      Street is street.
      Park is park.
      Why don’t skaters get this?

The Maverick designs were way better! It was nice of them to actually keep to the brief.

Also: I didn’t like the dude from wheelscape saying “This is a potential design that you could afford with your budget.”
That says “Here’s one we made earlier” to me and doesn’t seem like they’ve really read the brief.
The Yank designs look the same too.

Maverick for the win so far. But lets see what those crazy drivers over at Gravity have got for us.

Where’s the jumpbox? What’s with all the gash lack of quarters? Very bad

hmm, im also not a fan, im liking the bowl section, it looks pretty fun and it would be cool, even better if it was more mini oriantated, but id much prefer the original intended features. especially things like a jump box and a nice few quarters and roll ins. fingers crossed for some nice designs from different companies. cheers james.

this just makes me laugh we started with these meetings and the main aspect/problem was that mid summer months the park gets packed one of the busiest i have been to, so a bowl was always a bad idea,we spoke to the guys at wheelscape and they agreed no bowl.
we wanted a spine min, jump box, street course and the usual stuff that makes up a park and they deliver this! not impressed
(in one ear and out the other) is the phrase.

Lee, if you have any trouble getting skatepark materials from travis perkins i’ve put crawley in the boot of the volvo as a back up plan. Just a thought.
