Neil Keddie moves from Alone

Neil Keddie has parted ways from Alone on good terms. See the statement below from the Alone site

“Neil Keddie has had to move on from the Alone BMX team for 2011. He leaves on good terms and we wish him all the best. Neil has been part of the team since Alone started way back in 2004. As well as riding has also been a great a help in designing some of our products and pushing that side of things forward. Some good times, trips, amazing riding and a whole bunch of tailwhip nosepicks! Thanks Neil!”

Digitalbmx Redesign

Its finally happened, after years of designing and redesigning I’ve finally put together a redesign of the site. There are loads of new features to the site (some listed below) lots of hours put in so hope its to everyone’s liking. Any comments/ improvements then give me a shout.

New Features:

Design
The main idea for this design was to keep it simple and clean, and let the content be the main focus of the site. The main post area is 20% bigger so videos can be view at a larger scale.

Featured posts
The top 5 posts that are most important will be displayed at random at the top of the website in the fading feature box.

Instant Comments
This is something i’ve wanted to implement for a while. There is now a quick way to comment on a post. Just click on the “Post quick comment” at the bottom of the post and it will display some fields to fill out (please enter your name.. being Anonymous ain’t cool). No more navigating away from the homepage to make a quick comment.

Comment threads
On each post page you can now comment on someones comment without starting a new thread. Just hit the “Reply” button under the person comment.

Search
The search functionality now displays the posts in full rather in a summary form, it just makes it easy to view what you have searched for.

More updates
There are now more people getting involved with posting for 2011 so updates will be daily.

Tweaks
Loads of little styling site tweaks, eg: new widgets, advertisement, smaller side bar, fb integration, image display etc.

Enjoy,
James

Light it up

A couple of Fridays ago some super ninja genius at Recycles Bike Shop had the genius idea of taking a generator and lights down to Bowlworth to light it up for an evening session. Despite one of the 3 lights getting dropped it still worked out pretty good. Bit of a shame more riders didnt show up but the local lads made up for it by riding pretty much non-stop. Hopefully it’ll happen again at some point so keep your eyes peeled over at the Recycles site as well.
